It seems that my youngster decided to teach me something new every week.
So, this morning I rode her, after ride I cold hosed, turn her out for a while and then I gave her a good massage and put arnica on her lower legs (tendon area because I'm a crazy horse mom scared of tendon injury)
I went to the yard again two hours ago and I found her with all legs swollen, especially the front, hot and painful. I brought her to the yo to brainstorm and he told me it wasnt a classical stocking for being stabled and I told him that the only thing I did different (even though I already used the arnica yesterday) was using the arnica. So I cold hosed and rang the vet, told the situation and she told that it's possible it's an allergic reaction to arnica gel, she asked me about the food and even thigh it was changed its been two weeks she's on the new food and since all the legs were swollen a soft tissue injury seemed unlikely
On the vet recommendation I cold hosed again and put bandages on to stimulate circulation after I walked her for 40 minutes and the vet Also told me to give her aspirin again to stimulate circulation
My question is: have you ever had a horse with an allergic reaction to a cream?? Or a reaction were their legs swollen up?
