All love for greyhounds has now vanished, I am about to strangle them

Despite the horrendous hot weather my two insist on running in and out of the house through the patio doors every time they think they can hear something (which, since I live on an estate, is most of the time!) They have also gone investigating trying to get into next doors garden, got stuck on the junk which is dumped behind the shed and made themselves squeal, then ran frenetically around the garden like idiots until I called them in and shut the patio doors.

I am seriously losing my patience with them, they are winding themselves up for no reason

I have never had greyhounds which have been so much of a pain in the a**e as these two are

I swear I will start stuffing ACP down them every evening to make them stay calm in this hot weather

Can I tempt you to swap them for one slightly used spaniel?

I think it's the weather making them all act like numpties!

They CAN'T be greyhounds... mine are only ever active for about 10mins per day and have spent today mooching around feeling sorry for themselves in the heat or been flat out on the nice cold stone floor

Believe me, I understand what you are saying

These two are about numbers 5 and 6 which I have had over the years from the rescue people, and all the others have been lovely and sensible

I blame Flick the splotchy youngster (she has only just turned two) - life was so easy until she came along

But you were so proud the other night!! I know how you feel. Mine are charging out barking at everything all day long. Having lost a rottie in hot weather I am especially sensitive about trying to keep them calm and cool.

I know

I have just emphatically shouted at Flick to sit down and sit still as she was winding herself up into a right state and panting madly.... peace at last!

Poor things, I know it is this weather to blame not them really, you cannot explain to them how much nicer life would be if they took it easy

Oh dear, personally in the middle of the day it's so hot that I think my brain feels like a fried egg and the only thing I will seriously contemplate is whether or not it would be cooler if I will became a nudist, if my dogs acted like that right now I think I would just crawl in under my bed and pretend I didn't knew them...
