All my horses are ill :(

I'm waiting at yard now for the vet, since this morning their temps have gone up to 40, and they can't breath with thick thick dark green snot. Poor snots it's come on and got worse so quickly. I'm going to hopefully get stuff to cover the 2 which aren't as bad. Will let u know what the vet says
Oh, no, nasty. Fingers still crossed.

My Welsh A had a nasty virus in the summer after coming back from a week long show. He was absolutely fine in himself but the most awful snotty nose.

Got over it himself within 7 days. Unfortunately there is nothing a vet can give. Same as our common cold.

The vets believe it's the same bug that's gone through a yard near by which I wasn't aware off. I can't spell it but it's the same group of bugs that course strangles and is nasty. The whole yard have been put on medicine for 7 days and I'm recording temps twice a day. It's not strangles but is effecting their thoaths hence their heavy breathing as well. Fingers xd the medcine works.

My mare currently has something which sounds very similar to yours :/. She has had no high temperatures though. Been going on for over a week now - tested for strangles but came back negative. Our other two horses are totally fine. She has been on a 5 day course of antibiotics since Friday but nothing much has changed. I dont envy you having a few down with it as its hard enough with one:/ Do you know the name of the medicine they are on?

so strangles is streptococcus equi var. equi. There is another subspecies called Streptococcus zooepidemicus which is possible the one he thinks it is.

No he's ran no bloods, he's sure he knows what it is so I shall crack on with what he's told me to do and see what happens.
My lot have been together for a long time and not been of the farm for a while, it's not a livery with horses coming and going. He's sure it's the same bug that's on a local place which have been swabbed and tested and I'm being treated the same
