We're picking up the lorry next weekend and I have a lesson booked on the Monday so I need to get organised.

I've been told to make a wish list of things I've forgotten :D

I have:
head collar and leadrope (plus one spare)
travel rug
travel boots
water bucket

I need:
hay bag/net
baler twine or safety ring thingy

I have included the obvious, such as tack, grooming kit and actual horse :D

We keep spare clothes, deodorant and lots of food/ drink (foods where you just add boiling water, lots of water, lucozade, nutrigrain bars, chocolate...).

For the horses, a spare headcollar and leadrope, spare girth... Lots of baler twine. Any tack which is vital but not easily grabbed (breastplate and neck strap for us!)...

I was thinking about getting a quick release band like the equi ping rather than baler twine. I have to admit we've always used twine in the past but I'm not sure right now.

Breastplate is attached to my snaffle bridle so will have to switch it over to the pelham one - thanks for that.
What about a spare numnah? got a spare girth on my stressage saddle :)

ooh.. must put the posh stirrups back on my GP :o

We use quick release clip both to tie up horse and haynet.

Depending on how the partitions stay open and what angle you park at you may need something to hold them open - we use an old dog lead!

First aid kit for horse and rider.

Food and drink.

Spare clothes and hi viz

Spare turnout rug just in case you break down and need to leave the horse somewhere overnight.

We carry a small bale of haylage in winter for the same reason.

Water buckets, sponges, sweat scraper

Really, just empty your house into it and you'll be fine!!!

we have a tack locker so bridles/saddles etc wil be secure.
we also have underfloor storage.

I've just bought a horse/human first aid kit - went a bit mad on equestrian clearance

so i still need:
hi vis (have loads in the house for work)
torch
vet numbers
breakdown numbers
spare rug
spare clothes

I've ordered a few of those quick release bands :)
do people use bungee cords as well as tying up with the lead rope?
