Cob has been on forage plus winter balancer for the last few months - doing ok on it - his feet look good and initially I thought I saw an improvement in his coat although he generally has a nice shiny coat, bright eyes etc so I'm not sure it was the supplement.
It's a bit £££ and more importantly, getting him to eat it is a bit hit and miss - he only gets a tiny feed so trying to hide it is tricky -you need to add a lot of sugarbeet to get him to eat it all and he'll often leave some of his dinner which is unlike him.
Anything else worth considering? I've used Kossolian blood salts during coat changes in the past and he did well on that and also used Equimins advanced completed - again no major results but he's not a horse that seems to need anything although when I first took his back shoes off I do think that maybe the forage + helped strengthen his hooves.
Thought it worth considering other options before just re ordering FP - especially as I don't think he's got any major deficiences?
I'd love to get the forage analyzed but as they move feels a few times a year I don't know if there will be much benefit?
