All Team GB eventers passed the trot up!

Yeeeessssssss!

I have the TV booked for 6pm, 7 yr old son can stop watching Tom and Jerry and watch some show jumping instead;) (Then again while watching the dressage he really surprised us by asking if he could start to learn to do it:eek: poor Aps is going to have her work cut out this winter, not sure if we can teach an 11hher to do piaffe and passage though:D)

Classic lol

Whoop whoop Come on GB they cn do it!!!

Courageous Comet withdrawn from hold box (was in 3rd place), all other Americans passed. CC pulled a shoe off yesterday, which is probably what did it. Poor Becky.

Did not present: Jessica Phoenix and Exponential (CAN), Duarte Seabra and Fernhill Gloster Rebel, Sonja Johnson and Ringwould Jaguar (AUS), Marco Cappai and Dourango (ITA).

Apparently Woodburn didn't look totally 100% but was not asked to trot up again...

He was in 3rd position actually. Must admit he was one I thought looked stiff when he pulled up :(

I feel really sorry for Jessica Phoenix actually, that was the stickability of the century and she deserved a good result. :( :(
Can't believe Buck Davison threw his horse across the wall corner (where I'm sure he must have scraped his back legs) and got away with it...

Yes, thanks Kerelli - don't know how you get your information so quickly, but am very glad you do!! I can stop worrying now!

Ha, friends in the right places... ;) ;)

Actually, both COTH (Chronicle of the Horse forum) and EventingNation are brilliant, yesterday both reported on what the hold on course was for (horse with shoulder injury after glancing off corner, rider okay) waay before I could find it anywhere else... allayed my terrors, a very long hold on xc and news blackout can make one fear the worst.

oh drats, now I've given away my Top Secret sources. *hands in 009 badge and gun*

Thanks K :D

There's an interesting bit on HHO actually regarding team GB. They appealed Tina's 20 penalties believe it or not!

Really interesting what Eventing Nation is saying about Patricia Ryan. I wonder what the outcome of that will be?

What's being said?

I didn't think Courageous Comet looked 100% yesterday :( What does that put the US team on now?

I can't believe I have a 5pm meeting today! Argh! I shall be trying to get home asap! :D

Taken from the Eventing Nation Website

Patricia Ryan and Fernhill Clover Mist: The word from multiple sources is that Fernhill Clover Mist stepped on an electrical cable and punctured through the protective casing with his stud, thus causing a shock that presumably made him to run off with Patricia. To make the situation more interesting, the FEI released a veterinary statement Saturday night that "an injury occurred to [Fernhill Clover Mist's] left hock while he was galloping between fences on course. The statement says the horse is expected to improve but does not explain what the injury is, what caused the injury, or whether the injury occurred before or after Fernhill Clover Mist ran away with Patricia at a full out gallop for several hundred meters.

Am liking the Eventing Nation website bar this little bit:

'US and Canadians dominate'. Umm well actually no, the Brits did. Because the Brits are awesome :D

Nice to see a bit of humour:

'With all of the love we are showing the US and Canadian teams, the British fans would probably respond by saying just one word: "scoreboard." Nicola Wilson and Opposition Buzz started the morning off with a brilliant double-clear for Great Britain and William followed that up with another double clear. They jumped the Germans to take the team competition lead and William is in silver medal position. Great Britain is about to do well at another international championship? Shocker.'

:D

But we only do well at Europeans. Last World gold was 1994 and Olympics ????. Its so tight up the top of leader board, it will be tense and I am a little scared!

Yes, poor her, poor horse. Not the first time it has happened though, so I guess it'll just be written off as 'one of those things'. :( Very lucky she wasn't coming to a fence when it happened...

In case anyone doesn't remember, the same thing happened to Ian Stark on a catch ride at Burghley in about 1988/1999ish, I know because I was standing right by the exit from the arena fences as he galloped past me, and the big TV screen instantly went blank (because his horse had studded through the elec cable). He went on for a few more fences and then the horse just didn't get its undercarriage out at all at one of the final (let-up) fences, landed in a heap. Ian was unhurt. Horse stayed down for aaages (iirc he was last to go so they could afford to just give it time), a friend of mine was mounted stewarding at that fence so I'd walked to see him, didn't realise horse was on the floor there cos they weren't saying much over the tannoy (not surprisingly.) Thank GOD the horse eventually got up after what seemed like forever, and was fine. (There was a vet either side and 1 pulling his tail to balance him, luckily, because the crowd cheered when he got up, he spooked, staggered and the vets kept him on his feet.) Iirc they said then he must have gotten a huge elec shock from the cable his stud pierced.
You'd think they'd realise that cables need to be REALLY well protected and dug in deep with horses galloping over them with studs in... :( :( :(

Sorry I should have said team gold.

I know we are the best eventing nation in the world and just want us to win the right colour medal to prove this :)
