All the gear and No idea?!

Because I hate clothes shopping!

Tack shopping, I love that.

Me too!!!

But I am a manic ebayer! I love "bargains" (or "surprises" as some things were!!) and I love, love, love getting parcels off the postman! It feels like Christmas!

All the stuff I buy is horsey. And why not? I don't smoke, don't really drink, rarely go out socially etc - my horses are my life.

I think the saying of ' All the gera and No idea' should be reserved for those with all the gadgetery that have no clue what it does, or what they are trying to acheive.

( such as people who change bits every so often for no reason!)

That really does grate on me..

However, buying nice matching rugs and badages and a nice saddle etc is completely different.
Why shouldn't your horse look smart and lovely and spoiled.

I'm going to look a right twit when I got jumping this winter and the pony turns up in his John Whittaker Fleece (that cost an awful lot of money) to jump the 2ft. With matching green travel bandages and Velvet saddlecloth :D

But I don't care, he looks smart and the equipment has a purpose.

In General I am more of a make do and mend kind of person with seconds hand rugs etc. But there is no reason if you can afford it why you shouldn;t splash out. :D

Its none of their business if you want to buy the very best you can afford for your horses. Your money, your choice. As long as the welfare of any horse is taken care of who cares whether they have new items, secondhand, basic, luxury or anything else. Most definitely smacks of the green eyed monster to me.

What's wrong with being proud of your horses and buying them the best you can afford?

Nice saddlery & equipment gives me a lot of pleasure, I love quality stuff, even though I usually walk about in rags myself!

If you can afford to treat your horses to the best, then good luck to you, that's what I say!
