All the peeps with horses in Ireland and the West Coast

I'm in NI. It has been as windy as I've ever seen it, and the horses had to come in at 3 as it was getting worse and worse. .. Quite a lot of trees down locally but no structural damage to buildings that I'm aware apart from one friends field shelter.

Worse in the south though. Cork Kerry and Limerick seem badly affected and 3 people have lost their lives..

I thought of you all today. The few lovely NI members who helped me out with a few questions recently so figured your in the eye of the storm, sadly quite literally.
Stay safe. Hopefully it will blow itself out quickly.
Thoughts with those who have lost their lives :'(

Been thinking about how you will all manage all day and feeling lucky I am in the east. Hope not to hear of any more horror news tomorrow. So so sorry 3 people have lost their lives in this

It's been bad in parts but luckily for us in the Wild West of NI it wasn't too bad. My horses are a few miles away on a private yard and the lovely farm manager checked them for me this evening so I didn't have to venture back out (there are a lot of tree lined roads between here and there). I'll be over to them bright and early tomorrow, can't help but worry.

Definitely wouldn't have fancied being out on the roads as the light was fading.. Lots of trees down.

It's still pretty windy here, can hear it howling outside window!
All horses are still out in field as I think its safer. They have plenty of shelter and the wussy WB is in his rug whereas Billy and the shetland are hairy and naked lol. At least in the field they can get away from a falling tree whereas in a stable they're stuck!

It was pretty horrible when I went to feed and check them, but they will be grand I'm sure.

We had a tree down on the yard which blocked the exit for those still on it, so dad had to get busy with the chainsaw lol. So far we've been lucky, and electric has stayed on!
