Have you started yet? We started at the very beginning of the month on Partridge but unfortunately I can only do Saturdays now so tomorrow will only be my third day whereas all the rest are already moaning about going out 6 days a week! The buggers!

Toby has been retired now and won't be going out again :( So its just me and Flyn and I am borrowing a neighbours spaniel for the season - he is just fab :D This is his first "real" season as he is only three and just did a few days last season but his owner has done a fantastic job with him :D

I keep meaning to bring my camera but damned if I can find the blooming memory card! I'll go and have a hunt for it now and take it with me tomorrow ;)

So - how is everyone's season going so far?

My OH has been invited to shoot next month and my Large Munsterlander's presence has been specifically requested, which is sending shivers up my spine! He has an amazing nose, but his steadiness is somewhat lacking! I know I'm a crap handler (he works so much better for my daughter) but I'm going to have to bite the bullet, so to speak, and take him myself! He's four, but never actually picked up before - just tons of gun dog training classes! He hears gun fire and just gets SOOOO excited! I'm hoping my daughter will come along with either her angelic "perfect" Golden Retriever and/or her fab baby Springador who is proving to be an AMAZING little gun dog!

I was out practising tonight with my daughter - Munsterlander is SO wasted with me because he is really talented but takes the p*ss out of me! As my old gun dog trainer Stan (RIP) said "That's a really good dog you've got there, he's got a really good nose - pity about the handler!". So true - I'm useless! Dogs see me as a soft touch!

HOWEVER - I'm going to be out there next month - but I may never be able to show my face in the shooting world ever again!

LOL KC I don't believe a word of it! :p

I have read alot and have had a keen interest in Munsterlanders - would love to see what he does down here. Certainly no one in this neck of the woods has seen one work. Aren't they overgrown spaniels?

The other breed that I have taken an interest in is Spinone's - I run the gun dog trials for a charity event and one year a Spinone wiped the floor with all the spaniels and labs - an amazingly intelligent breed ....... just need a bigger house for one! ;)

Ravenswood - I've just taken out my contact lens and can't see my computer screen! Yes, Munsterlanders are basically "Springers on stilts" - very big stilts"! My Bryn has the most amazing nose! It's just me who doiesn't fulfil his potential! I know I'm a crap handler he's so much better behaved with my daughter who is lovng but firm with her dogs - I'm just a total walkover"
