Ive recently moved yards and my barefoot trimmer is unable to travel to me now, so i used the yard farrier that they all swear by- although only young stock are "barefoot"
He has trimmed her frog and i can see rasped the hoof walls
Is there any harm in doing this? I know about the walls it will have thinned them Grrrrr, but more so about her frog??
Is it worth asking if he will leave these in future or cut losses and find new barefoot? I wasnt present when he did them- work full time and he comes during the day.
Equally my mare is still footy at times, have people found that the pro hoof as helped with this? Diet etc is as low sugar as possible but she still hates walking on stones.
Any thoughts?
