If you fancy company PM me, I would love to give it a go!

Look for small racehorse trainers near you as sometimes they will rent you their gallops when they are not using them. This usually means going in the afternoon/evening and they generally charge between £5-£10 a time. Not all yards will allow this but some do so it's worth asking - at the end of the day the worst they can say is no! And if they say no then they may know of another yard that will say yes if you ask :)

I've been here loads of times - it's awesome! They are really nice there, it's great fun, and the surface is good.
I have *ahem* 'tested the surface' (unexplainable falling off at a canter on a straight bit...).

You do have to call and book and avoid the times when they are training the racehorses. And if you have a short, hairy, obstinate cob, be prepared for the racing jockeys to find the concept of it galloping quite hilarious! (and to be equally amused when it refuses to load on the way home and you are poking it on the a*se with a yard broom).

Seriously - it is the most fun I've ever had :) :) :) Do it!

Brill thanks for these suggestions/experience people..

Will be my first time taking them to a gallops so could be interesting :) im sure it will be fine.. atleast the surface has been tested by ^ ;)

Just need to get them out and give them a blast and should improve their fitness.. grass is way to lush here with all this rain.

JoBo i shall let you know when im going, will probs be in another week or 2 as i need to fit it in round work and im dressag'ing this weekend.
