All your Newfies!

FORESTER, FORESTER, FORESTER, FORESTER, FORESTER, FORESTER, FORESTER...

I bought one 6 years ago, a wonderful wonderful 14.1 grey gelding who is our horse of a lifetime. Because of him, I now have 7 of them, including a newly gelded yearling colt and filly by P Thundercloud. All are forestbred bar one, who we bred ourselves.

I think you probably get more foals at the October Autumn sale, which is when the NF Pony publicity group run a foal show. However, the stallions out on the forest have been restricted for the last 2 years, so there are less full reg foals about now to choose from.

This is my little chap - (forest bred by Sunnydale Bay Rhum) he's now 22 and semi retired due to cushings/IR/lami which gave me a nightmare year last year. But he still battled back to win a dressage comp in September - as my farrier said yesterday he IS amazing.

He's my little gift horse - I got him nearly 11 years ago and he's just been an amazing pony. Done a bit of everything - dressage to elementary, SJ, WH, showing, handy pony, pleasure rides (carted me round Delamere forest at age 20!)

Only trouble with him is cos he's black and quite chunky I keep getting asked if he's a sect D!

I have two forest bred boys (one gelding one stallion) both have fantastic temperaments, and are very good doers! If you start them slowly and properly they make the most amazing ponies :)

I have owned a new forest pony for the last 3 years. I acquired Alfie(Fidleywood Phantom) as a 2 year old as desperately needed a companion pony. However, he has now become much more than that and i think he is fantastic. I backed him when he was 4 and he had the winter off. Have recently started riding him again and had him to his first ever show(intro dressage) at the weekend. Really wasnt expecting much but ended up with two 1sts and 70% in both classes! Not bad for a young pony and a non-dressage rider ! Although he can be very spooky and thinks everything is going to attack him i feel we have built up a lot of trust and he really does try his little heart out for you. I would thoroughly recommend these ponies as they are fantastic all rounders! : )

I had a blue roan (well she was for most of the year, along with black, blue, white, grey and muddy! Her reg name was Howen Twilight II aka Trust Simba, reg by Millersford Star II out of Howen Stoney Miss. Pony of a lifetime!! Lost her last Jan and the hole she left will never be filled. Just under 14hh, thought she was a 17hh racehorse. Cheeky and great fun, but never nasty. Did sj, xc, hunting, lots of dressage (novice at comps, elementary at home) and general fun and games. Forest bred and nice n chunky.

My current Forester is Kilncopse Celeste, aka, Indiana. She is stud bred, by Farriers Playboy out of Kilncopse Katrina (Does anyone have any pics of Farriers Playboy btw??). She is leggier than Simba but similar attitude. Stands at 14.2 and is 4 next week! I got her just turned 3, and she has taken a long time to come right as very wary/scared of people (obviously had a v rough time prior), but I rebacked her 6 weeks ago after spending last Summer getting to know each other and going out n about in hand. I do want another one though so also looking to go to the sales!!!!

Hi just had a look at his passport as i know very little about the breeding of new forests. His sire is Sturtmoor safaris hot spart and his dam is fidleywood freedom. Just know he was bought by someone local to me from down south along with another pony before i bought him at 2.

Booga - yours is beautiful. I think they are ace ponys as big enough for an adult to ride and enjoy as well : )

I use photobucket - upload photos to that and then copy and paste image code into your post on forum.

Thank you.

This is Odin, registered NF only 4 years old and blind in one eye,has been since day 2,got him to keep my Fatboy company.

He looks lovely tania and has such a kind face. Has he always been blind in one eye or was it the result of an accident?
