To see the Q&As click on "home" and then scroll down to see the most recent Q&As - to see them all click on the index link on the right.

I'll get the tech team to take a look at the problem with the download section.

Have a look in your car handbook to see what your tow weight limit is-the engine size is only one factor, it seems that the weight of your vehicle is the crucial factor.

I recently passed my driving test. i Am 18 yrs old. Is there any limits on Towing? I no i have to take an additional test, but are there any age limits or time limits on passin the drvin test to taking the towing test??

If you only have a B licence then it is best to take the test before towing but for any reason that you need to tow in the meantime then the following may help..
You can tow up to 3500kg providing that the MAM (Maximum Authorised Mass) of the trailer is less than the kerb weight of your car ie a Ford Mondeo weighs in at 1470kg kerb weight and can therefore tow a trailer with a MAM of 1400kg or less which limits you on trailer purchase! But.. and this is the good bit, you can contact the trailer's manufacturor (ie Ifor) and request that they downgrade the trailer's MAM (they can do this with reason - approx 10-20%) you need the trailer's serial number to do this and they will be able to send you out a new plate, remember though that you can not go over the plated weight even with a larger vehicle towing unless the plate is then re-adjusted. So you can tow a 401 with a Mondeo or similar as long as you get the trailer down-graded.
