Well Rocks is bad again
frown.gif
His breathing is perfectly fine at rest but when ridden if he goes out of a walk he just cannot cope, coughs splutters and gasps for air

hes actually getting worse each day, and worse since hes been on the inhalors so that makes me think he could be allergic to the inhalor. Vet coming out tommorow with a different inhalor, if that doesn't work hes going to have to be referred to liphook and taken there as we've exhausted all other options (as hes already on steroids).
So please please ALL your vibes for Rocks and hoping it's just that hes allergic to inhalor hes on (as hes got worse since being on it) and new one works, because the last thing i want to have to do is retire him at 6

Though on the positive side at least hes ok at rest so perfect comfortable when hes out in the field or in stable.
It's all speculation but vet seemed rather worried that the inhalor wasn't working and was infact having the opposite effect.
So please all your vibes

I'm sure you've been through all of this - but could there be something at your place that is making him like this?????

Trees, pollen etc.

Yes and no. We moved yards but hes got allergic airways syndrome so hes always allergic to everything, thin air, there is no way you can tell what its just a case of coping - which hes not

they do have a scientific word for an unknown allergy but i cant remember what it was. I think the vet is more concerned that treatment that cures 95% of cases isnt helping him, infact is making him worse.

Kayleigh I was so pleased to read your post when it said Rocky had been fine with taking the inhalor and now this!

You two are really having a time of it lately! I hope you find a solution when the vet visits and that Rocky is feeling more comfortable at work soon. Big hugs to you and loads of +vibes+ to Rocky. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Oh no, I am so sorry to read this. I thought the move was going to cure him

Let's hope the vet can get to the bottom of what he's sensitive to, and that they can find an inhaler or drugs to make him better. What a worry for you.

I hope you get it sorted. Not that you want to end up at Liphook, but if you do you will have all the expertese you could need there to get it fixed. Try not to worry (I'm sure it's hard not to). Best Wishes to you and Rocky.
