allegedly hit my trailer wirh car - advice, thoughts, help????!!

how on earth can you be liable for damage to his car when you were parked and out of the vehicle???? he crashed his car! wot a muppet!!!!

He's probably thought - horse trailer, rich people and is hoping your insurance will be funding his Christmas. Get all those pictures and let him prove it.

Well just had an interesting phone call from my mum who's at his house...."he wants to know if we can just forget it happened & call it the end of it?"!!!

Think he's realised he's a plank!!!

Thanks for everyone's advice!!! xx

:D

I giggled when I read this. Bet you are relieved all the same.

OP, I'm sure you've checked but def worth looking at your tow bar and hitch if he really did hit it. In fact I'd be finding the most expensive garage in the land to do a structural inspection of car and trailer then slap him with the bill.

Way-hey ..result :)
Send the plonker a leaflet for specsavers :D:D
Or you could counter claim that he's caused you and your pony irriversable stress !!

Do still check that the police have a record of you reporting it and tell your mum's insurance.

I wouldn't accept his word that this is over and by telling police etc now you will be in a much stronger position if he decides to chance his luck at a later date.

Pi55 take, no damage to your trailer, horse not upset, you were a stationary vehicle, regardless of where you were parked, "if " he did hit your trailer it was his fault anyway, he was in control of a moving vehicle, his lack of due care and attention makes him in the wrong, "if " he did hit your trailer I bet he was on the phone, I would tell him to go stuff himself, no witness's his word against yours.

I honestly don't think he has hit it at all!! I've spoken to a friend who works for an insurance company & he says just to take a note of when & where he says it happened just incase - don't think ill hear from him again though especially as he has to live near my mum - its a very small street!!
