allen and page calm and condition

i have used it for about two years with my TB and it is quite good. you have to give quite a bit though and of course it doubles in size as you have to add water! i use about a bag a week on a 16hh TB. i also give alfa a and haylage

good luck

Depends on the horse but there are lower starch feeds and some with higher energy that could be more effective. look for high fibre and oil and low starch, ring the companies if they dont declare them. Feed Ad lib hay/haylage too. Grass is also effective

I put my horse on this and persevered for about 5 months but it didn't make a difference to his weight gain, it didn't fizz him up either. I am not a fan I don't like the consistency it absorbed loads of water and did seem to pack him up they also recommend you feed a huge amount of it so I had to split it between several feeds.

Eventually I stopped using it as he kept getting constipated, I continued with my alfa a oil just upped the amount and added redigrass & multi vit through winter which I had a lot more success with.

I have used this feed and not found it very effective at putting on weight. I didn't like the way it kept swelling as you added water and would just keep going the more you added. I have used Baliey's n.o.1 as a good feed to gain weight and it gave them more energy. Also feeding good haylage this winter has kept my horses weight constant.
