It says on the A&P website that Fast Fibre can be used as a partial or complete hay replacer.

Could I have some opinions on this product please as I've never come across it before. Is it the same consistency as Speedi-beet? Could I feed a large amount?

I'm not trying to cut out hay, just find something to fill up a hungry horse who needs to gain a bit of weight without going loopy as out of work due to injury. With hay the price it is in my area, I can't feed it ad lib.

I used as a partial hay replacer last winter. Very good stuff although low calorie so will only aid in weight gain if fed in large amounts or combined with another high calorie feed.

It soaks in 30 seconds to a mush (imagine sand on the beach when wet).

Easy to use. Although as a complete hay replacer, you will need to feed around 2% of horses body weight and one stubbs scoop weighs 1.5kg. Therefore, as a sole hay replacer for my 14hh pony, I would have needed 5 scoops.

That's really helpful - thank you.

I'm not replacing hay, just looking for an additional source of fibre :)

ETA: How long does it stay fresh once made up?

great stuff for additional fibre with low calroies - a real bulker rather than a calorific feed :)
i use it in summer to hide joint supp in ;)

Think fast fibre is fab, our two love it and stay sane on it (the same can't be said for rather a long list of other feeds!).
