I have absolutely no association with said company but really wish more people were aware of the fantastic range of feeds A&P actually have and I really don't think they do themselves justice with their advertising, or lack of.
I have had horses nearly 15 years and I always used to think most horse feed came from one of four places spillers, baileys, d&h or dengie!
However since S developed a barley allergy I was looking into alternatives and stumbled across A&P because they have a barley and molasses free range. I found a stockist and bought my first bag and I was in love with it. Yes you do have to soak it but literally for a few minutes. S looks so much better on it, her condition is spot on, her coat looks lovely and she has plenty of energy for work.
I'm not saying everyone should change because different feeds suit different horses, but if you are considering a change/having problems then I would definately recommend a trip off the "beaten track" to try some A&P products, and I only wish I had discovered them sooner hence why i though I would tell HHOers about it!

i swear by power and performance for my mare :D love the stuff :D
but i also use ctopline conditioning cubes over winter :o just can't see past them and they suit her really well - prob is i have a mare who wont eat mixes, wont eat soaked food and goes loopy on alfalfa - so i'm kinda limited lol!!!

I had an old (15 - ok so not so old!) ex advanced eventer that was a nervous little bugger and the only thing that i could get him to eat was A&P's calm and condition. He was a champion on it but wouldn;t even touch anything else no matter what i tried him on. Got so fed up with getting one bag a time i eventually moved the whole yard onto it!

Their fast fibre is fantastic, it got my friends mare through this winter looking
the best she's ever done and she's 35yrs now. She loves it as well xx

I have my 2 barefoot mares on fast fibre and its great. I needed weight putting on them while the spring grass was comming through. It was great as not any sugar there to add to footiness problems

Some of their feeds are excellent but i have been shocked at the high starch levels of some of them

Yeah I'm with you teddyt; I feed mine Fast Fibre, but was looking into getting the Power and Performance as its Alfalfa free, but the starch level in a lot of their feeds is really high, and as mine are barefoot I was put off buying it.

So any recommendations of alfalfa free feed, low sugar , low starch, but will give some energy let me know!!

I agree teddyt. Weight Gain and Old Faithful are ridiculously high!!! The starch level in Old Faithful is 45% in comparision to another popular veteran mix which is 15%!

Ive looked at their quiet mix which has a starch level equivalent to that of some competition feeds.
