Has anyone who has a horse that is prone to skin allergies/hives (in the UK) tried a drug called Apoquel?? It is licensed in the UK for use on dogs and cats but not, as yet, on horses. It has been trialled and is being used very successfully in the USA. Just wondered if anyone in the UK had tried it - would love to hear your views, positives/negatives, costs, dosage, etc??

We've done the allergy testing and immunotherapy. Sadly it only 'dampens it down' so still looking for other ways

Oh know hope all ok and you find out what suits , and settles the allergies down , do you know if you pay a set amount for the vaccine ie 400 pound for example and then that does ie a few months dosage ? Thanks

presumably your horse couldn't have cushings? We couldn't control hives in a 10yo. By 12 we were at the stage of PTS. Never even thought that hives could be a cushings symptom. That horse had the most rubbish immune system. Once the cushings was treated we never had hives or allergies ever again.
