Allergic to Gastrogard?

My horse appears to be allergic to Gastrogard. After seven days on full dose she had fluid under her belly, then three days later was covered in big lumps all over her body. Took her off the GG and everything disappeared. Back on the GG on a reduced dosage and ten days later she has lumps under her belly and it generally looks swollen again. Might not be the GG but nothing else has changed.
She is a totally different horse on the GG and currently not at all rideable without it.
Has anyone experienced this? Found a way forward on the GG? Or a way forward on another Omezaprole product (guessing she could be allergic to something else in the GG and not actually the Omezaprole)?
Or am I left trawling through the many supplements that are an acid inhibitors? Any particular products to be recommended?

Have done long reply on your post on another forum but Equine Science Gastroplus has really worked on my boy-now have my horse back.Decided to give it a go after trawling through loads of other posts about what Supplement for Ulcers and this one seemed to come up one of the most with some of the best results.I have been so impressed.Will say that he had been fully scoped over a year before and treated with GG successfully but Insurance wouldn't cover it anymore so decided to give the Gastroplus a go after he started showing signs after going down with Lami and being diagnosed with Insulin Resistance.
 
Ranitidine (Zantac) works in horses too, It just has to be given more often. If you are not on insurance, your vet can advise on dose and it is available in bulk on eBay.
 
I can't give my horse gastrogard because it made her colicky both times she had it in the past. She was scoped with ulcers Thurs so waiting for prescription from my vet so i can buy her some Cemetidine . Its 13p a tablet from chemist direct.

Agree with fusspot, it worked on my horse mine became unridable, and leathel to handle poor horses ulcers cause so much pain and discomfort xxx
