My terrier cross has an allergy to something and it is causing all sorts of problems. He is constantly licking and chewing his feet, gets sore patches all over his back and belly, which get scabby and then gets a bacterial infection. He has been on numerous antibiotics, and has regular baths in malaseb and iodine, sudocrem and socks on his feet!!

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and how they are managing it?? Any tips welcomed!!! He is fed on bakers dry food and pedigree pouches.
Thanks in advance!!

Get him off the Bakers :o it's full of additives and colourings.

If it's not the food (I'd be surprised if it's not) it could be grass/tree pollen/floor surface like carpet/household project like washing powder/allergy to parasites/fertiliser or weedkiller.

Ditto the rest - get him off the Bakers and Pedigree Chum - neither is "proper" food. My highly food allergic dog can only eat Wagg dry food and Nature Diet meat pouches, but on this he looks fantastic and *touch wood* hasn't had an allergic flare up in over 3 years.

my dog was exactly like yours op ,and it was after a thread on here i changed his diet-the food he was eating was no more than sweepings off the floor with more additives than i dont know what! i changed to skinners and hes been marvellous since-no scabby itchy feet and elbows:D

My eldest Spin was the same (coupled with a thyroid issue too) and we put her on the skinners hypo feed and she has 4mg pitot on twice a day and she hasn't looked back.

My friend's collie had exactly the same. Vet advised to put him on a fish and potato diet (can't remember the brand but it's a dry kibble you can get from pets at home) and keep him off meat and cereal based stuff. He's been 100% ever since.
