Hi,
Having had horses for years, I moved abroad for a couple of years, and on my return found I had become very allergic to horses...
Has this happened to anyone else? And if so what solutions did you come up with?
Thanks
Ru

My family have always had cats.

The minute my brother and sister moved away they became allergic to them.

I think it may be more common than people think.

firstly i lived here for 10 years and then n.ireland for 10 years and then back here for a few. i found that when i was growing up here i wasnt allergic to horses at all but when i lived in belfast it was terrible i had hay fever and horse allergies but now im back... nothing! i have no idea what the problem is its weird. all i could do was take an antihystamine [sp] each day!

Its strange, I don't suffer from Hay Fever, or any other allergy... just horses... Guess I'll just have to stick with the anti-H's.. was hoping that someone might have a solution!

You should find that the more you expose yourself to them the better you will get around them. It may also not be the horses but something at the yard that you werent exposed to before.

Different yards different horses... same effect... very tedious! Especially having grown up in and around lots of different yards..!
