My horse is an itcher but not sweetitch - doesn't begin until June and barrier rugs are useless. I am now in a position when I can afford to investigate rather than just manage (which I do with electric fencing, lotions and potions etc but he still rubs his stomach and bum on the ground) so looking at the blood test done by Allervet. I suspect a summer plant so if anyone has used the service, has it totally identified the allergen, how effective is the immunotherapy (and how expensive!!) as it is difficult to remove all offending plants from the environment.

Do not rule out sweetitch even with him being like this. Neither of mine usually begin to it until June and still itch with rugs, unfortunately.

Well I would suggest yours are allergic to something other than the saliva of the culicoides midge then
