Looking for some reviews on Alltech Lifeforce Products: I have a pony currently being treated for Ulcers and from reading through the forum I have seen a lot of people really recommending Lifeforce!!

Can anyone currently using this product give any advice good and bad and which product do you use Focus, Formula or Elite? Does anyone know the difference in the ingredients between the products? I have emailed both Alltech and Rutland horse extras and tried calling but having no luck getting through to either… My thought is to go with the Formula to start with and come next year when she goes back into full work and competition move onto the Elite or would I be best to go straight for the Elite?

Thanks in advance.

I use the Focus on my horse, and it really suits him; he has been a lot calmer and less spooky since having him on it, and his hooves are amazing.

Well worth speaking to someone from Alltech before deciding which to go for.

All 3 have the same amount of chelated zinc, copper and manganese added.

All 3 have organic selenium added, and there is more than twice as much selenium in Elite compared to the other two (around 1mg per day in Focus and Formula; around 2mg in Elite), so you need to know what's in your current diet to avoid going too high with this.

Elite has dried algae in - not sure what they contribute. The others don't.

Elite is a little higher in fats/oils.

Beyond that, I don't know. Have never used the products, but found out a little about them because people were mentioning them to me.

I'd recommend the formula, I use it for boy who was successfully treated for ulcers with GastroGuard earlier this year, I highly recommend it, and I truly believe its saved me from selling my boy. His feed is simply half a scoop of Dengie hifi mollasses free, the lifeforce and rectently boswellia for joints (but also soothing for the stomach), I just add ERS pellets if his workload is high enough!
