Can anyone point me in the right direction for buying this online please - I'm struggling to find out where to get it in the UK. It's the middle one I want to try - think it's called Formula.

Also if anyone uses any of the 3 products I'd be grateful for some feedback.

Thank you.

Rutland Horse Extras are on Facebook, or you could PM SlinkyUnicorn on here :)

I used it for a couple of months, it was very good, but my horse doesn't currently need a balancer, it would be my choice though.

Thank you guys, I have ordered some through Rutland so will give it a try.

JennBags It's good to hear you've had a positive experience of it, I'm hoping it will do something for one of mine who is struggling to get any condition on at the moment - fingers crossed!

I used it on my WBx mare who i'd previously had foot issues with, and a lack of weight, her condition noticably improved, her coat was glowing even though she lives out 24/7 and wasnt clipped and her hoof growth improved so much the farrier was very impressed!

Thanks orionstar, I didn't think of the hoof benefits but that's another bonus if I get similar results to you.

I'm looking forward to getting started on it now :)

I'm using it for my TB gelding, we've been struggling with ulcers, and the lifeforce has seriously helped, he looks brilliant on it, plus his coat was a bit scurfy however, since the lifeforce he's lovely and shiny! Can't recommend enough!

I'd be interested to know which one you are all using if poss.

I have ordered the Focus which is the basic, but I may need the Formula so will have to see how it goes.

Are you all using Formula to get such good results?

I have been using the 'Formula' however will be changing onto the Focus next time, have no worries the impact will change for him for what i am feeding it for.

That's interesting Hedwards - I'm wondering if I've made a mistake by ordering the Focus but considering your reply maybe not.

I'd like to get a little more covering on my 7/8ths TB who is not really doing well on our current lack of grazing. I decided to go for the Focus as she is really a leisure horse but I found another bit of info after I'd ordered which said the Formula is suitable for leisure horses in reasonable work and the Focus is really for seniors and retired horses.

I've also now had a standard email from Fiona at Rutlands which says introduce gradually to allow horses to get used to the taste. Mine is the fussiest eater imaginable so it's possible she's not going to eat it anyway!

We have 4 different horses on it - a TB, section A, a cob and a WB - all are doing great on it. The TB struggles to hold his condition - there is a pic if him on Rutlands FB page:D the cob and Sec A both have had lami in the past so are on restricted grazing and the WB has ulcers - it helps all of them maintain condition, improves their hooves and shiny shiny coats:D even the grey gleams:D

Just feed in usual feed - they can smell it as well as taste it - our TB can be fussy but we found after a scoop for a few days in his favourite alfalfa he now happily scoffs the 2 scoops needed in anything:D the others are just pigs so have always just eaten it!:D

Anyone know whether it would be best to use the formula or the focus on a poor doer TB,has had ulcers several times & in light-ish work. Been looking into lifeforce but dithering over which one to try 1st.

Whizzer the months trial size is the Formula - it has a mycotoxin binder in it that the Focus doesn't but you can change between them if it works for your horse :) the mycotoxin binder is useful for horses in more work who get more feed - especially haylage - as they are exposed to more mycotoxins. Is also better to use in the winter when they get more hay/haylage. When out and grazing the Focus will do the job as well :)

If you find they are fussy, (mine wolfed down the life force so not an issue) add a bit of fenugreek (cheap as chips from Pro Earth on eBay) does a great job!

I have 5 of mine on the Formula.

Originally trialled it on a Connemara that lost weight suddenly and over the course of a year, huge feed bills, equally huge vets bills, dentist etc, etc failed to put on any weight. Even went off any form of hay / feed. Within a month of being on the Formula showed noticeable improvement. Now he is really starting to look like a million dollars!

My Friesian has had a skin condition which has (again) foiled the vets. Now showing noticeable improvement. :)

The other 3 - possible ulcers in one, Sweetitch in another and the third is a recent addition to the family - nervous, underweight, unhandled youngster.

All are showing good improvement. Their temperaments have changed too - calmer, happier and most certainly looking great.

My farrier has also noticed the improvement in their feet.

All round fab stuff. :)

I'm just wondering, is this product a conditioning supplement, or a fully comprehensive vit and mineral product? Are the ingredients available anywhere? TIA :)

i tried it on CS but it actually aggravated his ulcers and he was very un-happy.

he is a very tricky horse to managed feed wise and seems to throw the rule book out (happiest and most comfortable on a high grain mash) so perhaps its *him* rather than the supplement, but trial with care (as with anything really).
