Alpha2EQ

Has anyone used this for joints? Thanks
No but my vet did suggest it for hock arthritis for my mare. Did some research and decided against it, there is limited evidence for it in general and no long term studies as it’s quite new. Went for Arthramid instead which out physio also recommended over the Alpha. Depends on the joints I think as there has been some positive results in other areas just not much for hocks

Thank you. My young cob has had surgery for PSD and arthramid into his hocks but the vet suggested it for his stifles which are effused. However, I think we will try steroids first.

I think there has been some research on its use for stifles, I'm sure someone commented before when I asked the same question! https://forums.horseandhound.co.uk/threads/alpha-2-injection-experiences.844314/

I don't think the evidence was compelling....in my experience it felt like the vet wanted to use it because we are claiming on the insurance and she basically said if we can then we should...but in the end I went for alternative management with the arthramid. They also suggested steroids as an alternative option, but I wanted to try the arthramid as its meant to be great for hocks.
