As title, anybody used an alternative instead of the expensive original panels for your trailer sides? My floor is solid and the trailer is serviced on a regular basis, it's just two of the side panels that are starting to rot. Any pictures would be great. Thank you.

I have just purchased 12mm light grey phenolic boards to clad a lorry from a company called Hanson Plywood, there are one or two other companies (advanced technical panels being one) that sell this stuff in different thicknesses, grey being the default colour, used to build Richardson trailers.

If you didnt want to use original ifor boards yes you could use phenolic board's. They range from 12mm to 22mm in grey and brown some have a grip side and a stamped print on the other. ATP do a range of plain colour boards with no grip they also do a coloured range as well. You may find delivery cost might be high though.

Did any of you manage to find the correct size for your panels? 1525mm x 2073mm? I can only find 8x 4 ft
In the end my husband had some chequer plates made just to strengthen the area where the panels had rotted. The rot was only on the outside it had not gone all the way through. We don’t have the trailer anymore but it did us for a couple of years.
