Which alternative therapies do you use and why? Any recommendations?

We have a kinesiologist (spl??) who comes out, and improves our horses health, behaviour and performance through different techniques - still unsure what actually happens, but my friends swears by it and so far it has worked on my horse - hers oftens get inbalances of minerals, and who knows how he does it but he always manages to find out what it is!

Is there any alternative therapies you would recommend for a certain situation - such as a behaviourist for a horse who won't load etc, or homepathy for help in your horses immune system.

Just interested!!

I used a Bowen therapist for myself after a riding accident and then called him my witch doctor due to the amazing results.

I now have a treatment every 6-9 months as a preventative measure and because I also find it very relaxing and good for my posture. I've also tried Bowen and McTimmony on my mare but more as a preventative measure than fixing something and I give myself and my mare Reiki treatments which helps detect any problems and again, it's very relaxing.

You've probably gathered I'm a real fan of alternative therapies although I'm not saying they are a cure all.

Bowen for me and mine.

But I much prefer the term "complimentary therapies" rather than "alternative therapies" as conventional medicine is also important and I would never condone turning my back on conventional medicine/vets.

Bowen for me after seeing how well it worked on my older mare (only 15 but had a hard life and was nearly retired 3 years ago). A friend does kiniesology but I haven't had her "do" mine yet.
