I decided that Armas could do with a Osteopath treatment thus I booked a session. I was warned that the osteopath was rather alternative mmmm.
The woman was recommended by a local yard owner !
So she arrived I explained my issues rear hind not tracking in fully.
She had a look at his movement then started to work. She ran her hands over the whole of Armas. She indicated that there was an issue with his Sacrum and his first three vertebra were tight she also indicated that everything was ok in side !.
So the treatment consisted of her closing her eyes tightly touching the affected areas. Treatment lasted about 30mins and cost me €170.
I was told that he would now be fine and to keep him of work for a day.
Osteopath is also a vet !!!
To say I am not filled with hope is an understatement. We shall see.
However I have also booked a session http://www.cadrenoir.co.uk/veterinary-clinic-and-smithy I shudder to think of the cost
Lets hope the odd osteopath is correct. If not I shall be asking for a refund !

I am going to the vets to put my mind at rest.

Has any one had an experience with such an odd osteopath ???

Sorry but that isn't what I consider oesteopathy. I think ( having watched your videos ) that she might be correct in her assessment, but I'll be very surprised if her treatment works. Sorry.
Kx

Money down the drain I am guessing lesson learned. However I will know on Thursday if there is an issue or not. Fingers crossed for the not !

craniosacrial therapy?? i went for phisio last week and she did something simular on me.. was brilliant. helped my back pain... i read a lot of oesteo's are doing it now.

Don't get me wrong. I think osteopathy is a valid treatment when it's done well.
It just sounds, from your description as if it wasn't in this case.
Unfortunately, getting a good therapist/ vet/ instructor etc is basically down to trial & error. At best it's a waste of money, at worse it can damage your horse.
I don't think armas will be any the worse for his osteo' experience.
Hopefully it will be good news from the vet.
Kx

It was explained in French thus I got a bit lost. However from doing some tinternet digging this is similar to what the woman did with Armas.
Please not this is not Armas nor the woman who treated him.

I used an Osteopath for the first time with my new pony.

I bought my pony very cheap as he had serious issues with being mounted.

I had the vet out first who checked him, couldnt find any issues so recommended an Osteo. I had the man out and straight away I though he was a little odd! He did very little with my pony. Pressed on him a bit, pulled his legs a bit and rested his hands on him a bit. Then said all was well, he was in perfect health, that will be £40 please! He was there for about 10 minutes.

Apparently he's very good and comes highly recommended, even from my vet, but I thought the whole thing was a bit strange!

Is this not telling you that Armas needs a bit of a rest from this session he is currently doing? Yes he has improved and looks lovely. But he is only slight, he needs a rest period too.

No, I think you will find that Armas had a little issue with this BEFORE he started his recent work. Actually, i think he is rather better after all the heavy duty stuff than he was before.

Cortez is yet again on the money. He has always been a bit weak in the hind quarters. Hence some times it was difficult to get him to go straight. Thats now improving. His work load is intense this month however some sessions are very short if the work achieved is satisfactory. A normal session is less than 45 mins twice a day with a 6 hr gap in between.
I have chosen to go to see a vet as a precaution to make sure every thing is in order. His intense work is now coming to an end this week.
He will be having a good few days R&R in his paddock.
