Does anyone know a good chaff as an alternative to Alfa A Oil?

My horse, who's been on it for years, has went off it completley in the past few months. He'll pick around it as much as possible so I'm left with a heap of dusty alfa a in the morning. I quite liked the alfa a oil due to the oil content etc.

Also I think the texture/ consitency of Alfa A Oil has changed a fair bit?
It seems to be finer chopped and quite dusty (not sure if thats the right word). Does anyone else have this problem?
It' not only this bag thats not great, the previous two bags have been the same.

So can anyone suggest a good alternative chaff?

Thanks.

I've always used Dengie and I've noticed a difference in it this year, it doesnt seem as moist somehow - only way I can describe it. My boys are leaving it too, and never have in the past (regular Alfa A). Don't like the Badminton one as it was always stalky and dry, but it was a few years ago when I last tried it

i definitely think it's quite powdery. my horse doesn't like the dust it leaves and just tips it all over the floor - i must be wasting so much money. i've just bought a bag of the TopSpec alfa one to try so will see if that's any different.

I have changed to TopSpec Alfalfa - it has no molasses but is coated with soya oil and has added mint - had the same problem with Alfa A as they started leaving it and I thought it smelt different when I opened the bags..

Anyway I am happy with the TopSpec Alfalfa so will stick with that. I should say it works out a bit more expensive as it comes in 15kg bags instead of 20kg bags - but if they don't eat it then it is a total waste of money

I was just going to suggest what slinkyunicorn has suggested.

I also use Topspec Topchop Alfa & the Lite, it contains no mollases & has a light covering of Soya oil & added mint it is cut longer in length so you really don't get any dust.

I love the stuff so do the horses not one of them has refused it.

Love Mollichaff as great value and my horse loves it and looks great on it.
I have bought the Badminton one this week as the feed shop had run out of Mollichaff and I refuse to buy Alfa A as such a rip off.

I have always relied on Alpha-A Oil to get my horse through the winter in good condition, however have cut it out in this year as for the first time ever it seems to have sent her loopy. Something in it has definitely changed.

Although i've never tried Alpha A, I do feed Alpha A Lite and this too seems different some how. It smells strongly of mint I think, but the consistency is nice and all mine are eating it.

What about Winergy Equilibrium? I use the medium energy for my horse and like it as it is a complete feed so don't have to buy mix and chaff anymore plus it seems very well made/researched etc and is very much a fibre based feed so better for digestion etc. It is a bit more expensive but think this is a bit offset by not having to buy two feed bags.
