Alternative to Ariats?

My Ariat jodphur boots have died :(. My budget doesn't stretch to new Ariats as the cheapest I can find are £130. I'm tempted by the Premier Equine Loxley boots which are 20% off today. Anyone have the Premier Equine boots or have any other recommendations? My budget is up to £80.

Apologies if this has been asked before.
 
The premier equine ones are naff one of the lads on the yard bought a pair and they lasted 5 mins and didn't break in properly at all.

I won't buy expensive boots. No point on my job. They only last 5 mins. My show boots are Toggi and i have had them for 15 years
 
I've got a pair of Harry Hall Recife jod boots that cost me £30 ten years ago, and the bloody things won't die. I won't let myself buy nice, new replacements until they do, but they just keep on going. They'd probably even look okay if I wiped the dirt off.

I had the PE Chiswick boots for a while (around £70) and I found them really soft and comfortable, but like you say they came up HUGE and I had to go down a size. I'd probably have a pair again.
 
Avoid the PE boots. I had a pair that got wet once, not really wet just damp on wet grass, and then stank and went out of shape. Threw them away after a couple of months.
 
Thanks for your help. I've had the Brogini in the past but they didn't last long (soles split) and I didn't find them very comfortable. Sounds like I should give the Premier Equine boots a miss. I do prefer zip up boots which the Harry Hall boots aren't unfortunately although they do look very durable.

I may have to wait until I can afford Ariats and hope it doesn't rain in the meantime!
 
I’ve been wearing Tuffa endurance boot with zip and they’ve lasted well so far doing all yard duties, riding and walking the dog. Bought them at Hickstead last year and have worn them constantly two summers and any dry enough weather since. They’re not waterproof but then Ariat short boots aren’t really either. They’re not as cushioned as Ariat so I’ve got a gel insole in them. They do a jodhpur boot too but I haven’t tried them.
 
I'm the same as you - the Ariats I usually get are now around £200 and I find that difficult to justify! I've been looking online and have found the "Shires Moretta Lorenza Zip Front Paddock Boots" which look nice and similar in style to the Ariat Devon Pro's - they're around £75. I appreciate that Ariats are excellent quality etc, but maybe these may be an option?

I've got these as well. Bought them after a pair of Ariats died.
They are very good. I've put a pair of memory-foam insoles in mine and can stomp around all day in them.
 
OP how long did yours last? I love them but I don't think they last as long as they should for the price. Mine have just died and I think I've had them 3 years. I do wear them all the time and in all weathers and I don't clean them etc., which may explain it!!
 
I'm not sure how long I've had my current Ariats but probably 2/3 years. They've lasted longer than my previous Ariats. I got these ones very cheap as they are a style that they introduced for a short time and stopped making quite quickly as I don't think they were popular. They are different to the usual Ariats and don't have the same seam across the toe which is where my previous Ariats have split very quickly. These ones have still split across the toe but only on one foot!
 
Are you sure you can't find any cheaper ariats on line? Their customer service is usually top class and they do seem to last longer than some other brands. Maybe go for a cheap pair just now while you save up for ariats or wait and see if any come up in Black Friday deals?
 
Taurus did some smart Ariat-like boots but it looks as if they've stopped making them
They're £50ish but in very limited sizes (5, 7, 7.5, 8)

I've just bought some of these from Amazon as although I would have liked Ariats (I wear my daughter's sometimes), I couldn't find any good deals any where and the Tuffa's were £50 cheaper.

I have looked. If anyone can find black size 5 zip-up Ariat jodhpur boots online for less than £125 please let me know :)
 
Following with interest. I have slightly difficult feet and the Ariat insole works for me. I have 2 pairs of the Devon Pro (no longer made) so when one pair leaks I dry them and wear the other pair in the meantime. I reckon the water proof element lasts about a year but there are no holes/splits and zips are fine so I'm reluctant to replace them. The Bromont paddock boot is waterproof but the others don't have the same claims. Now you've got me looking and I'm tempted...…..
 
I find the mountain horse ones last forever. I somehow managed to lose mine so I bought a pair of waterproof steel toe cap boots instead. (I wanted steel toe caps because the beast leaped on my foot) 😡
They are comfortable and look the exact same as the mountain horse (but much cheaper). They're fine to ride in as well.
 
I have a pair of Tredstep Ireland boots, they are super comfy and have lasted well. They look quite similar to Ariats.
