Hi

Don't want to get into the fors and against of pessoas, I use one on my horse and he works well on it (he's a very active horse and naturally works uphill) but the issues I have is it takes me blinking ages to get the damn thing on! I usually lunge when I'm short of time but by using the Pessoa it takes me longer!

Are there any alternative pieces of equipment That I could use instead that don't require half an hour assembly! Lol :p

Are the lungie bungie things any good?

Thanks x

Lunge with 2 lines. Have a second line on the outside running behind the horse's hindquarters (just above his hocks) and into your other hand. The second line encourages him to work more from behind, and because it's in your hand rather than attached the horse you can choose from one moment to the next how much pressure to put on. The second line can also act as an outside rein to stop the horse falling out through the shoulder.

This ,I sometimes also use a bungie ,the two work well together.

I have two elastic bandages, which I have tied clips to the end of and attach to bit, then tie to roller between front legs. I do it pretty loosely, just so there's something 'there' but not so it's holding his head in ;) When he's working properly they are redundant, and have enough give to be sure that it won't catch him in the mouth (just in case he trips, he hasn't, but I like to be sure)

I use it instead of my pessoa and much prefer it, it really encourages him to stretch and relax over his back, which is what I really aim for on the lunge as he has a naturally high head carriage :)
