Horse's aren't a fan of it. It there another 'complete' out there similar and good for good doers? I always thought it would be Happy Hoof, but apparently this isn't a complete feed.

They only have a token gesture, so I'd like them to quite enjoy it :)

Thanks!

I presume by a 'complete feed' you mean a feed that supplies everything a horse needs in addition to grass/forage, and usually means the feed is supplemented with a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals. If by a token gesture you mean just a handful to keep them happy then it doesn't really matter whether it is a complete feed or not! This is because to get the full benefit of a complete feed you have to feed at the recommended amount (for Safe & Sound it would be 1.5kg a day for a 500kg horse). Happy Hoof is a complete feed as well though. If the vitamin and mineral content is important to you, and you don't want to feed the full amount of a 'complete feed' then you could feed a low calorie pelleted balancer instead or a powdered vit/min supplement in some watery Speedibeet.

Ah thanks for that TGM - interesting as we had the D&H rep out who said that Happy Hoof wasn't a complete feed. I always thought it was, but bought a bag of the S&S upon her recommendation.

Yes this is fed alongside a forage based diet - I have a connie and a welsh cob... the feed is really just so they know they are 'done for the day' in summer and for the welshy to have his joint supp in.

Through winter, they hunt so their feed is upped to the recommended amounts for the work load which is why I was asking this I guess (sorry didn't add that in OP!) with some oats added where needed ;) I just don't think they'd eat that much Safe and Sound... now you've confirmed HH is also a complete feed, I shall switch them back onto this, as they love it!

Thanks xx
