Hi All

Hope you can help.

Does anyone know of an alternative to Spillers Cool Mix? (cheaper would be better as well, lol) The yard I am at is having a splurge on things we regulary buy and seeing if we can get it cheaper in bulk. I'm the only one on this food (well horse not me) and the people we are approaching for this 'bulk buy' don't offer Spillers as they don't sell it normally.

Any help and or advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

If you can get Pegasus mix it's by Spillers but sold cheaper under another name. The only other way I can think of is to go "own brand" with an equestrian shop.

Red Mills Cool N Cooked Mix is my favourite feed on the planet. It works for pretty much everything, and it smells of flapjacks.

In fact, all Red Mills feeds seem to be fantastic. I haven't tried all of them, but I have used most of their range and have loved everything I've used.

another vote for pegasus mix here!

was using top spec at 26.99 a bag and was going thru it like butter lol

pegasus mix is great and under a tenner a bag.

Topspec is a balancer... mix is a complete feed... two different things?

I would investigate some of the larger feed suppliers, and ask for a price list. Then look at your local feed suppliers, and compare the prices.

For example, I was looking through a price list for a large feed merchant thats well over a year old, and I can still buy the same feed cheaper from my local Mole Valley Store. If you want a good bulk delivery, local feed store should probs be able to deliver.
