We do low level eventing and SJ, plus hacking and schooling, but with him being chunky I like to get him really fit for the xc. When his interval training was upped, I could tell he needed something with a little more energy which is why I started on the Winergy High Energy.
Horse has been on this for a few months now and been really pleased with it.
However, the only stockist near me keeps being unable to get it in stock so I'm really struggling to get hold of it, so looking for an alternative.
I like it as it gives him enough stamina without making him silly/spooky, so looking for something similar!

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks :)

It's cereal based; high protein and starch. Sisters ex racer competing at Inter 1 (barefoot and with ulcers) is on it and it has worked wonders for his naturally idle nature! I'll give her a prod on where to get it from - it's not particularly widely available. She did get a bulk order (to pick up) when we were recently at Somerford and the feed reps were there also.

Thanks :) have looked on haven site, doesnt say much about energy but will take your word for it! May see if they can send me a sample as the only thing that worries me is if he will pile on the pounds? Hes not a fatty and had linseed with the winergy, but equally doesnt need to put weight on.
Will check out purefeed thanks. Someone at yard fed it and looked like glorofied chaff with not much else in it but that may have been the low energy or something.

I'm currently using Spillers Instant Response, and I have to say it has added a reasonable amount of dash to my 'horizontal attitude' ISH, and not made her sore in her tummy (ulcers).

Maybe have a look at GWF Tiger Oats (good with my boy). I'm also starting to try Nupafeed Staying Power so will let you know how we get on with that.

Winergy High Energy consists mainly of oats, wheat and maize in a fibre base (alfalfa/grass/wheatfeed) with added vit/mins. So you could create something similar by either feeding oats and alfafa/grass chaff with a vit/min supplement/balancer. Or feed one of the many available supplemented chaff feeds, plus extra oats. If you are concerned about possible weight gain, then the first option would be better. The vit/min supplement or balancer will ensure a regular supply of micronutrients and you can adjust the chaff and oat content according to energy levels and condition.

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies. Haven't been able to respond as HHO not letting me post replies!!
TGM that's a great idea, thanks.
Will look at the Instant Response as quite a few people have recommended that.
Had a look on Pure Feeds, I guess it would be the working I would need, doesn't seem that high energy though? Wonder if I would have to mix in some of the racing or would that be too much?
Thanks again :)
