My horse is on their A1/joint supplement as is doing well, it does seem to help.
But it is expensive (£2/day).
And thoughts on a cost effective alternative or should I just suck it up and pay if it works??

I've just bought some herby supplements for my lad from horseherbs.co.uk They do specific blends for joints and older horses. I've mixed the joint one and the daily health one together. It smells lovely. I can see an improvement in him after about 10 days so that is value for money in my eyes.

I would imagine it probably has Boswellia in it (£13.50 per kg, 25g per day dosage advised).. Possibly MSM & Glucosamine which you can buy cheaper also.

I'd go with Boswellia & MSM if you want to choose a couple of cheaper ingredients as I have read a few things which 'evidence' that they work, I am sceptical re: glucosamine. It may also have Turmeric in it which is a whole rabbit hole I don't want to go into, but may or may not help, and is cheap.

My friend is a fully qualified vet physio and she recently analysed some of the leading joint supplements for effectiveness and value for money. Her results showed that the best bang for your buck is: https://bettalife.co.uk/pharmaquin-...q_xYioBEKuSn44OulQ3OmClNGXIG-kIWMtgicv2zKmC8g I have bought some but am finishing my old supplement before I start it so can't comment on it's effectiveness from a real life perspective.

Mine is on a feedmark bespoke at about £70 a month delivered. But for me it replaced the feedmark joint supp which was about £60, and biotin which was about £20, and linseed oil which was about £15 so it worked out better overall for me, plus they deliver monthly and debit my account so I don't have to go running to get things or run out because the yard forget to tell me that its running low. The feedmark joint supp always comes out well in the analysis and he definitely needs the other things too
For me the bespoke type ones are good if your horse's feed are being made up by someone other than you. Its hard to go wrong with them.
