Alternatives to vetrap??

Any cheaper alternatives to be honest......costing a fortune for all this........have converted to nappies instead of animalintex which is fine with vet btw.

Also is ebay the best place for this??

I bought a box from ebay, it wasn't vetrap but worked just as well & was a fraction of the cost.

Hi there I am currently only poulticing one a day, but its kinda ongoing! I have 3 other horses that I like to keep a good medical stock in for.......

I have just been soooooooooshocked at the price of vetrap, it really is extortionate!!

What are you bandaging? If it's a hoof why not put the poultice/nappy on, then put the corner of a thick plastic feed bag over it (like haylage/chaff, something that won't rip easily), then wrap duck tape round it to hold it on. Make sure the bag comes well up to the fetlock so you can just tape round this to hold it on, as don't want to tape onto fur/skin obviously. Hope this helps. You'll probably say it's not for a foot now so probably not!

The last time I needed some I bought a wholesale lot of medical (human) ones, which were the same size and almost the same as vetwrap for 99p a roll off ebay.

Yep, I do the same as you PaintedLucky, save a fortune on vetwrap that way, just use lots of duck tape!

Yes, I make my own poultice boots out of a nappy and duck tape too! Also do the same if one of the TBs (who have precious feet) loses a shoe while I'm waiting for a farrier.
