what am i doing wrong??

Try not to blame yourself about this. Wait an see what the vet says. Unfortunately some horses are not as sound as others. I hope it is not too serious. Tell us what the vet says.

yeh shes out 24/7 wi my highland, there always together

its so hard not to blame yourself

the way things have been going since i got her im paying the vets wages

I know exactly how you feel, I had a horse and she was totally accident prone, she managed to always injure herself and in the four years I had her I managed to ride her 4 times. Don't get yourself down about this, some horses are just good at it and I also felt that I was paying the vets wages. I hope it is nothing to serious with your girlie and im glad you had a good ride on wednesday and Im sure that had nothing to do with her swollen knee. Hopefully she will be fine!

see when i ride her she is so totally amazing, she is gettin older 18 now so it might just be old age heading in?? i feel so safe on her she properly looks after me

love her to pieces just feels so s**t when all u do is love them but get nothing in return

Hope it goes ok with the vet tomorrow. I know how it feels to have a lame horse, along with so many on here, and its very hard indeed.
As with a lot of scenarios in life i don't think you truly understand until you have actually experienced it *big hugs* and chin up x

Welcome to my world

dont beat yourself up, these things happen with horses. Dex had yet another cut this morning. He never gets into scrapes, but since moving to a different field he is covered in scars, his choice as I have watched from afar and he is quite the bully!!!!

Unfortunately that's horses and however much you try to wrap her up these things will happen - my mare had a nasty cut on her shoulder the other day which required stitching - she did it overnight in her stable that she has been in for 14 years and we still don't know how or why it happened. Don't be too hard on yourself, and I really hope she gets better soon.

It's sods law (as my mum would say) the horses that are truly loved and given the best care get injured or ill and the horses just chucked in a field and left to their own devices never do

Your defo not a bad owner, horses will be horses, and they do get injured from time to time. Try not to worry too much, just see what the vet says, hope all goes well.
