Not sure if this is allowed but i can't find another forum for this.

In about May last year my cat developed a cold, runny nose, sneezing etc....Basicaly i have been to the vets every month since then and they can't seem to get the problem to go away.
He is a farm cat (now lives indoors) and has seen 2 different vets now with no joy. He has had anti'B's after anti'B's and then an even longer coarse of anti'b's along with a powder to be sprinkled on his food twice a day. but as soon as he comes of the meds his runny nose returns.
We have to move him to another room if we have visitors as it is quite unsightly.

the vets have said they can't do anymore for him, they have done a chest x-ray but told me there was nothing showing on it. He is much better when he is in all the time (which he prefers) as soon as he goes out in the cold his problem becomes much worse.

I was just wondering if there is any homepathic remedies i could try?? or if someone could point me in the dirrection of a forum to suit my post please let me know and my apologies for posting this here.
thank you

i have, sorry i wasn't very clear, second vet is from a different practise in a different area. I should add his age, 12 years +, not really sure...he came free with a horse i bought :)

We got a kitten from the local farm which developed cat flu a couple of days after we brought him home. Although he recovered from the flu, he was snuffly for the rest of his 13 years.

Has he been snap tested for aids & leukemia? First thing id get done if not. i hope u get him better soon x

^5 this

I am with cpl we vaccinate all cats that come in now we include leukemia . Dont waste any more time. The sooner the test the sooner the results, get them to check for other things too, the bloods will show up what ever is going on .
insist on a blood test if one hasnt been done

I have two rescue cats that have both had cat flu. They came to me extremely snuffly and my vet recommended lysine. I put them on this for a bit and they now snuffle less than they did, but whether this is due to the lysine I can't say.

Can't hurt though. Apparently it slows the reproduction of the herpes virus which causes some cat flus.

ETA: my vet told me that herpes-based cat flu gets worse in the cold so I should keep the cats warm.
