Both my horses are regularly shod every seven weeks however my farrier only texts me on the day he's coming to tell me he is coming and so I couldn't make the last one. He hasn't responded to me ringing or texting to reschedule. I've given up and been trying to get hold of other farriers and have finally found one who SHOULD (fingers crossed and awaiting to hear back as he is getting his van back from the garage today / tomorrow) be able to do it this week however I'm just being a tad paranoid about riding. One of mine has lost a shoe (he has awful hooves) whilst the other who has fantastic hooves has held them on. I'd say they've had them on around the 9 - 10 week mark.
Am I alright to ride the one who's still got all four on or should I just lunge? I can't leave him not worked because he is the fizzy type who goes a little hyper. He feels 100% sound (I was working in the arena yesterday) but I just feel a little paranoid and don't want to cause discomfort.
Praying the farrier gets back to me ASAP otherwise I might start tearing my hair out!
