hello, im new here being trying to join for ages with no success!
i have got a new sharer for my horse, she already had one sharer now she has two, one sharer does 3 days the other does one or two days, i don't ride the horse.
when the new sharer starter they managed to let my horse eat something it shouldn't eat and caused a £1500 vet bill, not impressed!
But forgive and forget and all that, it has been hard though as completely preventable!
anyway, all i expect my sharers to do is ride or not, then always poo pick (as deeper litter bed) give hay and feed, and to clear up any mess they make. my first sharer its like shes not been there, nothings changed other than the horses bed has been done.
this sharer everytime i go up the yard its like a disaster zone, bedding all over the yard, (its private yard just me) which i have to clear up, she has started leaving the hair from grooming in the bed, which is a long lasting bed so i have to take it out, and more often than not dumoing the muck next to the muck heap and not on it, which i have to spend my weekend removing when i could be riding my others! i have said about the sweeping and the muck but appears to fall on deaf ears.
shes also started doing stuff with my other horses like changing rugs unnecessarily and now even grooming them, naturally mucking up that bed with lots of hair too. i am starting to find having that sharer is causing me more work not less!
its not only that but she also tells me my horse is "starving" despite being describe as over weight on her recent trip to the vets, said she had worms when shes wormed and stiff when she knows she has low grade arthritis and needs a good lunge being ridden, but refuses to do it! and rode the horse on a day which the other sharer did without permission so horse was ridden twice (i nearly cried at that!).
i work full time and try my best but i find these comments really hurtful lol and all the tidying up really stresses me out on top of everything else i have to do as yard owner!
obviously extra money is helpful but im thinking the effort isnt worth it.
am i just being pedantic or would anyone else think this is a bit annoying?
