I am trying to sell my horse belgium warmblood gelding 18 yrs but does not look or act it BD,BE BSJA point still competing selling with saddle,two bridles rugs lots boots lots fly sheet in fact every thing he needs for £1500 is this too much as one buyer has just told me
He has lovely paces got 70% in last dressage test and 2nd showing is fit and in work i am hopeless with prices but thought this was fair
 
would you say he was a genuine schoolmaster type??? i.e got a lot to offer someone in jumping/dressage?? if so i think its reasonable if tack is in good order!

All the tack is very good condition thats is what i have tried to explain and he could teach someone so much and is safe but its like people want some thing for nothing
Thank you for good luck wishes i think i may need them also have been asked if i will accept payment instalments what are peoples thoughts on this i am not sure
 
He is 16hh a good looking horse with huge paces and i love him to bits i just want a good home for him but this selling thing is so stressful
 
He is fit and heathly and competing at the moment ridden 5/6 days a week so ready to go i will change the advert wording i think and keep my fingers crossed
What does everyone think about someone paying instalments is it safe?
 
Re. instalments. Depends on how much you want the horse to go to a particular home. I'd wanted a whole heap of documentation proving who the person was etc. - it's like being on loan I suppose. You'd need a good agreement in place.
 
Someone I know round here is trying to sell a 13.2hh 18 uear old jumping pony, definitely not a schollmistress for £3500....not surprisingly she hasn't sold her in over a year!
Wish yours was a mare, we only do mares here!

I would get a contract written if you go down this route and get it signed by witnesses. It will give you a leg to stand on if they don't pay. hope thats of some use... good luck

The problem i have is my son needs a bigger pony so mine will fund this also i have some health issues and am giving up to spend more time on my kids ponies
Ihave made my mind up so really want to go ahead otherwise i would keep him
 
I think that sounds perfectly reasonable! Whereabouts are you based and where have you advertised him? Somewhere like Horsequest may be a good idea to aim at the schoolmaster market.
 
QR have just sold my daughters 17yr old without tack for the asking price. New owner first viewed him in Arpil but due to unforseen circumstances finances wernt available till last week. I knew the person who wanted him would be the perfect owner, just what our old man deserved at his time of life. I wouldnt loan him or accept installments just waited until the cash was available.
 
i would have him, but ive already got an 18yo so want something a bit younger but bigger than my pony :S

£1500 seems fair

we paid £3000 for wilma at 16, with no points or anything... she was meant to be £2800 but we got her for £3000 with all the tack and rugs. this was 2 years ago though

I think you are right about the instalments it did make me feel uneasy so think i will give that a miss
