Am I at fault? :(

Tell your parents, I'd be inclined to just ring the non-emergency number for a chat in their position, or maybe they could have a chat with the YO and show them, depending on how good the YO is.

I'd be inclined to let the YO know about the texts, in the company of a parent (witness). Make it clear you don't want any action, just for them to be aware and that you consider the matter closed.

Should it kicks off again at least the YO will know where the fault lies.

She sounds bonkers! You have done the nice polite text, explaining yourself, so leave it there now. Ignore her, but as others have said, do show the texts to your parents and the YO, and don't delete them.

Ditto Mrs Elle, the women is clearly bonkers! Let your mum and YO know just in case, but other than that, get on an enjoy the horse you have your wee shots on.

This, good to share the problem and good to keep the messages in case she says you were rude to her or makes something up. But she will probably go and annoy someone else now hopefully!

Then you can just get in with enjoying Arab and having fun !

^this^ And keep the texts for evidence, just in case.

I hope it all blows over for you, I'm 50 myself and would find her behaviour intimindating!!!!!

btw-presume you haven't been near her horse since you left the yard? Just wonder if someone has said you have been

Thank you guys have just left it at that. Told parents and will notify yard owner later.
SusieT- no havent been near horse at all. Have only been going up at weekends and usually quite pushed for time and generally only person I see up at the yard is my friend or the YO. Havent a clue how its all kicked off

Goodness, she sounds like a nut job! I'm glad you've told your parents, at least if anything else is said then you have some back up from people who know what's going on. Good idea to keep the YO in the loop too.

I hate how some people try to intimidate others, please try to ignore her, she is the one with the problem, not you. Enjoy riding the Arab and let her ride her nutty cob, they are both as bonkers as each other!

She sounds a sandwich short of a picnic.

You ride her cob. Hes a nutter, you say no thanks. All fine.

Your friend offers you a nicer horse to ride occasionally and you accept.

You are no longer having anything to do with the cob or its owner.

Why on earth is she freaking out about you taking her horse off the yard......when you aren't riding it?? Are folk feeding her lies or something??

A little update. Went up to the yard and had a chat with YO who was very understanding and kind about all this. She thanked me for making her aware of situation and is going to keep her eyes peeled.
I spoke with another livery who told me more about the crazy lady and she seems like a fruitloop. Apparently this is a regular thing that she likes to get involved in others business and generally stirs things. YO says she was suprised to hear I was still riding and was asking about me yesterday as to who I was ridng. Figures that she is pissed because I found a better and more sane horse to enjoy.

Heard a few horror stories about her feeding other peoples horses, cutting their manes and riding them!! Also heard that she has has anger managenent classes in the past and that she had a whole affair a few years ago with a guy on the yard. Scary stuff!
Anyway, as it seems to be her that has the problems and that she generally seems like a cow then Im happy to let things blow over. Im not riding her horse so its none of her business. Im going to let her get on with being a fruitloop and a nutcase and enjoy riding my little arab.
Thank you for all your help and advice, hopefully its all over and sorted now!
