Sorry, bit of a pointless post but what do you think?
I had a girl move her horse onto my yard over the weekend on DIY. She asked me over the weekend if she could have the number of my farrier as her horse badly needed shoeing and wanted to ring him on Sunday. Personally, I don't ring my farrier at weekends, but I wanted him to come out and look at a loose shoe on a horse of mine so I said I would ring him Monday morning. So I rang the farrier yesterday morning and she was actually stood next to me at the time. He said he was going on holiday next week, but could come out this morning at 9.30. I thought that was pretty good and thanked him, she said that was fine although she couldn't be there as was working, but my farrier was happy with this as he has an apprentice if he needs a hand. Anyway, arrived at my yard this morning at 7 and she had already been and gone, put her horse out in the field, left no money, hadn't told me how many stud holes she wanted, etc. So I tried ringing, no answer, i text and said could she let me know if she didn't want him shoeing asap as I would have to let the farrier know. Didn't hear a thing so rang the farrier up at 8 and cancelled. I then got a text at 9 o'clock saying yes she did want him shoeing, could I pay for it and she would let me have the money later. By this time I was on the way out the gate on my way to a lesson. I did think about ringing up the farrier and re-booking him, bringing her horse in from the field and leaving a cheque. But then I thought why should I? Am I being really harsh? I did feel a bit mean, but it does annoy me when people can't organise themselves!
Sorry, rant over. Extra large G & T if you get this far!!
