Purchased Weatherbeeta's new Highgrove stable rug for this winter - just what I wanted, polyprop exterior to keep the rubber mat dirt at bay, nylon lining to avoid rubbing madam's coat, nice and warm.
The clip on the front broke within the first couple of months - I mean that the metal snapped thru and I returned it (the strap and broken clip) to Equestrian Clearance as Weatherbeeta suggested.
They have sent a replacement but it is navy with a silver clip, not grey with a gold clip like the original.
Do I complain or just live with the different colour - it was quite an expensive rug. Am I being fussy?

With Equestrian Clearance you have to accept the colour you are given. That's part of the deal and the reason why my 17.3hh gelding ended up with a pink fleece cooler (weatherbeeta). Can't complain as it was about £5 in the big boys/girls sale.

I would just stick with what you've got because I know that is how EC works. On the other hand, you could just phone and ask if they have the correct colour in stock.

Whether or not that's how they work, I wouldn't be happy with a different colour. I'd complain and if I didn't get any joy, I'd then go back to weatherbeater. But then I'm probably fussy

If I was paying full price, I'd be the same. But I'd rather have a bargain basement rug (I managed to get a full wardrobe of 8 rugs - good ones - for less than £200) than be picky about colour. They usually have a note on some of the pages saying that you cannot dictate which colour you want, which covers them. Not sure whether this was the case in this instance, but I probably wouldn't use EC if I was picky about colour. I much prefer mud colour anyway!
