I've been in a similar situation myself. There was a small group of us that helped each other out, some in different ways to others. Some of us were 'cash rich and time poor' the others the opposite. The time poor ones (myself included) bought feed/bedding/paid farrier/even mortgage sometimes!!! For the others and it worked really well for a few years, then one decided she'd had enough told us she was sick of being 'bought' and wanted out! It was hurtful at the time (only because of how it was said) but none of us fell out.
I suppose the moral of the story is, be open, tell your friend that you're struggling to help her as much as she would like, and that it feels that you're doing the lions share of the labour with none or little payback from her. It doesn't need to be so formal sitting down over a brew to discuss it, you could mention it whilst you're both chatting.
Does the yard offer livery services?? Or suggest she gets a sharer/part loaner? There's always the horsemanship courses for her to increase her knowledge too.
Good luck!
