Am I being scammed?

An equine physiotherapist that I used once last year sent a message on Facebook Messenger asking for my phone number. I queried why she was asking for it and she responded she needed a contact to help her log into Facebook with her new phone. I would be sent a code to forward to her. I did receive a code and sent it to her but Facebook seems to think I want to log into my own account from a different device. It’s all gone quiet now. I’m worried. Have I been compromised in some way?

So I don’t know my password. I’m requesting a password change but not receiving the eight digit code to my phone which is registered to my Facebook account to change the password. I’ve tried to deactivate my account but appear to need my password to do that.

Presumably you can still post on your page. So post that you’ve been hacked and for friends to ignore any messages from you.
Then contact FB to tell them.

I imagine she has changed your contact phone number. Is there a ‘I think I’ve been hacked’ button on fb?

I don’t there is anything you can do as they have changed all the contacts information
I think you’re right. I don’t have access to Facebook now. I only browse and have a handful of friends. I don’t operate a business or buy on Marketplace. I’m such an idiot and so stupidly eager to please/help. I even queried why she wanted my number and then gave it to her followed by the access code. I’m savvy about potential scams involving bank accounts but clearly clueless with social media.

Have you got a FB friend who you can text who could report your profile as hacked?

Also ,any website that you've used Facebook to sigh into , they can now access. So if you can remember them , go and at least remove any stored address and payment details and change the passwords.
