Cobster over reached a few weeks ago, and the little monster is being a pain to treat it, so he ended up with an infection and mange ( i think thats what it was

) vet gave all teh necessary injections etc and said there is no reason why he cant continue in normal work.
Well now he juist has a rather sore looking patch of dark pink skin (from what i can see amongst the feathers) but he still gets all wound up if i do anythign to it...so i feel as though that means its hurting him and perhaps i should give him a week off, even though the vet said no need. I really want to go for a hack today, as me and teh cob have had alot of this year "off" and im desperate to get him fit for hunting

Well, it actually may be sore if he's not allowing you to treat it.

I would clip the feather off so that you can see what's going on properly with the over reach, and start applying something like Sudocream to it librally. You may have to get a friend to help, and twitch him. But it's ridiculous that he won't let you treat his leg.

Thanks for your reply, iv clipped it as far as it will go but hes still quite bushy on his legs if that makes sense?

Iv been putting an antibacterial cream on in large amounts as im having to just slap it on and hope for the best

and i know he should have more manners than this, he has perfect manners in every other aspect but the moment he hurts himself he reverts back to wild Bob and nothing works

i thought lots of ground work would help but as he has perfect manners normally it doesnt seem to
