Am I being too picky?

I bought a Neue Schule bit this week, having used them before and the rings which join the lozenge are quite a bit bumpy, and not consistently gold/salox coated.. Am I being picky that for £50 I'd expect a better finish? I'm unsure whether to take it up with the seller.

No I mean the rings that join into the lozenge on the arms in the middle of the bit. Rings are probably not the best thing to call them but it's the circular bits of the arm with the hole in them where the lozenge sits. One is quite a different shape from the other and has a blob/poor join and in some places looks silver not gold.

It's a genuine one bought from an online shop, I'll post a pic later. Looking at my old ns it's not like this. Just looks like a poor finish, or a Friday afternoon job.

I'd send it back and ask for a new one that's as it should be, £50 is a lot for a bit if I remember rightly, though not much for an NS bit, I remember mine was £80 and that was cheap at the time, maybe they've gone down in price since 2006 :p

Yes it's brand new, just looks a bit poor, thanks - wondered if I was bring a bit picky. Looking at my old one I can see it doesn't look right.

The photo makes it look at but worse but yes I tried it on him today and he was a bit leaning to one side which is unlike him.
