My boy is not being worked at the mo, but should be coming back into work soon. He has lost weight this winter, and he is fed:

2kg Winergy Growth (w/ half measure of Benevit)
scoop of speedibeet
1lb BOSS

do you reckon this is too much for convalescence?

Is he rugged, a horse will use 80% of its energy to keep warm in the winter.

A horse should have between 1.5 and 2% of its body weight in feed. In the past, I have found redigrass great at putting the kilos on.

Does the horse have hay or haylage?

A horse of his size should be on ideally 3 or 4 kg of hard feed per day, mabye increase his feed. He's on less than my 16hh mare and she is a relatively good doer so a bit more feed might help
